A Petition to Congress: Require the IRS to Review and Rule on Tax Exempt Applications in a Timely Manner

\"poor,OrgSpring is petitioning Congress to establish a timeline for the IRS to review and rule on tax-exempt applications.

Amazingly, there is currently no rule or law requiring the IRS to review nonprofit applications in any timely manner, resulting in delays of as many as two years for some organizations.

Real nonprofits are making a real difference in our communities, and when they have to wait 2 years for exempt status their funding is put in jeopardy. Some organizations are forced to close the doors, leaving a void in our communities where services are no longer provided to our neediest citizens.

Please take a moment and sign the petition.

Thank you.
