Start with a number
Local races are won at the door, one conversation at a time. But before you knock on a single one, you need to know how many votes it takes to win.
The workbook walks you through it with past election results from your county: your win number the quick way, from one past election, and the weighted way, from two. Then it shows you how to check one against the other, so you know the number you’re planning on is real.
Find the voters
From there you’ll see how many votes your own party delivers and how many you have to persuade, set a vote goal for every precinct, and rank the ones you have to win. You’ll get the voter file, choose your tools, split your district into three groups of voters, and cut turf sized to a single volunteer shift.
Know what to say
